Rock Stars Reggie "Fieldy" Arvizu of Korn and Lou Gramm of Foreigner

On this episode of Divine Intervention, we will be talking about some of the things God is doing in the music industry as we will be joined by two rock stars: Reggie "Fieldy" Arvizu from Korn and Lou Gramm from Foreigner.

As one of Rock’s most popular bands, Korn pioneered the alternative heavy metal phenomenon. After two grammy awards, six grammy nominations, and more than 30 million albums sold worldwide, Korn’s reputation is solidified as one of the biggest and most decadent metal bands of all time.

And at the beginning, like most musicians eager to revel in their celebrity, members of Korn took to their new debauched lifestyle easily – especially Reggie “Fieldy” Arvizu, bassist and founding band member, who soon earned one of the worst reputations in music. But the drugs and alcohol eventually caught up with the hard-partying, womanizing bad boy, nearly destroying him and the band in the process. Now in the revealing and courageous memoir GOT THE LIFE: My Journey of Addiction, Faith, Recovery and Korn, Fieldy takes readers on a tour with Korn, giving them their first complete look inside the band. Fieldy tells the true story of life in Korn and how his depraved behavior, drug addictions and violent outbursts alienated all those who loved him. But his story doesn’t end there; he describes the long hard road back to sobriety and Korn’s triumphant reemergence from the depths of addiction, and how he came to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Fieldy joins us to share his life, his book, his music and the divine intervention he experienced when he gave his life to Christ and was powerfully delivered from alcohol and drug addiction, after having spent twenty years straight getting drunk and high every single day!

Powerhouse vocalist and songwriter Lou Gramm can be heard each and every day, all over the world, on Radio, iPods, CD players, television commercials, music videos, and of course… jukeboxes. He has become the voice of a generation.

Among the most distinctive and powerful voices to emerge from Rock and Top 40 radio, Gramm – the lead vocalist and co-writer of the multi-platinum band Foreigner – as well as a successful solo artist in his own right – remains one of the most recognizable performers in music today.

Lou Gramm, the vocalist on 20 Top 40 singles, which continue to drive sales of nearly 80 million albums worldwide, exploded onto the international music scene with Foreigner on the chart topper, “Feels Like The First Time,” in 1977. The stats are impressive – Eight Top 5 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and Five Top 5 Albums on the Billboard Top Album chart in the U.S alone! Lou Gramm is in a class by himself.

In the early 1990s, Lou experienced a divine intervention, and committed his life to Jesus Christ and became born again. Now, nearly three decades after the debut of Foreigner and chart-topping success as a solo artist, Lou Gramm returns with a hot new band, his first (and newly released) Christian album and a dynamic live show featuring 90 minutes of his own unique brand of Rock’n’Roll.

Whether they are rocking out on classics like “Hot Blooded” or “Juke Box Hero,” or rolling out a new extended groove on Gramm’s massive solo hit, “Midnight Blue,” Lou and his band have been pleasing enthusiastic audiences since January of 2004 with a show that captures the essence of Gramm’s talent.

Lou Gramm joins us on Divine Intervention to share about his life, career, his own personal Christian testimony, and his miraculous recovery from a large brain tumor that threatened his very life!
